Many subspecies of Julodis aequinoctialis were separated and are now considered good species, like J.lucasi, J.bleusei, J.marmottani. It lives around Western Sahara. Julodis aequinoctialis deserticola is probably just a form (morpho), and not a subspecies. It and specimens of nominal species live togheter in the same places and season, on the same bushes, with many intermediate forms.
